Summer Style: Cover-ups
One of the biggest pieces of advice that we give to our clients when shopping for swimwear is not to forget the cover-up. Often, the cover-up is the most useful swim item we own. Not only is it a stylish way to protect yourself from the sun, but it often ends up being the “leggings” of the summer. It’s the item that we throw on over our swimsuits to grab a smoothie, pick-up suntan lotion at CVS, or drop off clothing returns at the post office. It must be street-style worthy!
Some styles we are stalking for this summer include:
- Boho or peasant maxi dresses
- Shirt dresses
- Crochet dresses and pants
- Lace skirts
- Floral or patterned wide-leg pants
Although we always think it’s fun to buy a new cover-up for the summer, it’s also okay to raid the closet and recycle. For example, you can always repurpose a flowy dress or wrap skirt, “borrow” an oversized button down from your spouse or boyfriend, or revive a pair of flowy dress pants for use at the pool! Even a lightweight oversized cardigan can look amazing!
We can’t wait to spend the day relaxing at the beach or pool in our cover-ups! How about you?
Fashionably Yours,
